Age UK Westminster is in the process of opening a second Charity shop in the heart of the Church Street Community. Our goal is to build on the success of our current charity shop, situated on Harrow Road, London W9, and generate an additional stream of sustainable income for our organisation whilst increasing our presence in the Church Street area.
Aim of Volunteer Role
To assist in the day to day running of the Age UK Westminster charity shop to maximize sales and profitability.
Summary of Duties
- To assist and serve customers in a helpful and cheerful manner.
- To assist with processing stock, including sorting, steaming, pricing and hanging of donated items.
- To be involved with the till operation and the handling of cash.
- To promote public understanding of the work Age UK Westminster delivers and the importance of raising funds through the shop.
Skills, experiences and qualities required
- Good communication and customer care service skills
- Being able to work as part of a team environment and with the general public
Time commitment recommended for volunteers
A minimum of 4 hours per week.
