Central London Kitchen Porter Job

HOURS: Full time
PAY: £8.00 per hour
LOCATION: Torrington Place
THE ROLE: KITCHEN PORTER
• Running a busy lunch service, keeping food full and ready for service
• Ensuring that the counter food looks well presented and appetizing at all times
• Preparation of salads
• Cleaning dishes when necessary
• Heating and serving of soups
• Assist the Food to Go Counter with serving customers during busy times
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and running efficiently
• Check off deliveries and report any issues or discrepancies to the Head Chef/Sous Chef
• Assist with ensuring that all HACCP, Health and Safety and Soil Association procedures are adhered to and properly recorded; this includes temperature checks, cleanliness, hygiene, Soil Association log sheet
• Know and demonstrate by example Planet Organic’s customer service standards
• Demonstrate a flexible approach to teamwork, and a willingness to learn
• Attend/complete training as necessary
• Work closely with the shop floor team to ensure the service between the kitchen and shop floor is as efficient as possible
• Assist in stock rotation
• Assist with stock takes: this may require working additional hours from time to time
• Any other additional tasks that may be required, including washing up
PERSON SPECIFICATION
We are looking for someone with lots of initiative, experience in a similar role or the capability to move into this role, who understands the importance of health and safety and food safety, equipment maintenance, good interpersonal skills, high standards.
