Our catering offer is a central function to Stratford Circus Arts Centre and is critical to the overall successful delivery of our venue. You will be responsible for the managing the coffee shop, bar and conference catering services at SCAC, as well as taking the service to the next level.
BACKGROUND:
The catering offer at SCAC is divided into three parts; the conference and meetings business, the bar, (which we operate when theatre shows are taking place), and the daily coffee shop.
The conference/events segment is highly successful, complementing our successful hires business. We deliver varied catering from sandwiches or buffets for between 10 – 100 people. The bar is very successful on event nights, and we would like to improve our speed of service and review our offer.
The coffee shop offers great potential and we would like to explore ways of increasing revenues in this area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver all three elements of the catering offer on a daily basis
• Monitor the quality of the products and service provided
• Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock takes and ensure rotation of stock
• Manage ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
• Ensure food and supply items are stored correctly
• Implement the HACCP Policy
• Deliver and document the FSA standards
• Ensure Health and Safety regulations are strictly observed
• Develop menus in conjunction with the Events and Hires Manager
• Create and implement a comprehensive cleaning schedule
• Control budget planning and implementation
• Ensure compliance with all fire, licensing, and employment regulations
• Recruit staff to the team
• Manage the team
• Train the team in all processes, service and hospitality
• Ensure all daily processes are followed and documented on a daily basis
• Ensure the team are aware of the correct use of all equipment and chemicals in line with the Health and safety policies, ensuring everyone works in a safe manner
• Manage the weekly staff Rota
• Ensure that all catering areas are kept secure
