Events Food and Beverage Assistant
Zero hour contract, hours as required
up to £8.25 per hour starting rate plus holiday pay
We are currently looking to expand our team of events staff to support the business at 11 Cavendish Square as catered for by foodbydish. You will have the opportunity to working a vast array of events, conferences, dinners, BBQ, weddings, Christmas parties and many more located right in central London within 2 minutes walk of Oxford Circus.
We are looking for friendly, well presented individuals whom enjoy working in busy and social environments. Hours of work will range from 7am till Midnight (later at peak seasons) and largely dependant on the style and number of events taking place. In addition you will have access to work in a number of other venues as run by foodbydish in support of business demands and goals.
Since our operations range from small meetings through to larger events we are looking for staff with a range of skills and experience that are capable of working well in a large team but are also confident and proactive working independently with smaller meetings. If you have additional skills such as a team leader from previous roles we are happy to consider further training and or roles for you.
Purpose of the Post
To provide an efficient service to customers (both internally and externally) ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment. All items served and presented should be line with Foodbydish standards and statutory legislation.
Duties and Tasks
Customer Service
• Provide excellent service at all times
• Serve customers in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner
• Prepare food and basic food service stations as required
Communication
• Ensure excellent communication with delegates and event attendees
• Communicate effectively with staff on all levels
Cleaning and Hygiene
• Follow food hygiene standards and ensure compliance with Foodbydish Food Safety Policy
• Efficient clearing of shelves, tables and end of day clear down of pantries and preparation areas in line with Foodbydish and Kings Fund policy
• Maintain high standards of presentation in all catering stations
• Liaise with kitchen regarding food requirements for day and during service times
• General cleaning and washing up both manually and by hand
• Follow COSHH procedures
Cash Handling, Security and Health and Safety
• Secure cash in line with Foodbydish policy
• Be fully conversant with the security precautions and emergency procedures that relate to the cafe
• Report any faulty machinery, unsafe practices to the GCM
• Observe all health and safety at work regulations as set out by Foodbydish policy in accordance with statutory legislation
Other duties
• Undertake any reasonable duties as dictated by the General Catering Manager
• To perform in a professional and confidential manner which promotes the business in a positive manner.
