Be part of an exciting, energetic, Fun, person-centred home-based programme for a young adult female with a rare neurodisability, which causes lack of speech and associated learning and physical difficulties.
This programme is based on an attitude of love and acceptance and uses a format that is gentle and non-judgemental and profoundly respectful of the young person's world.
This role would suit a proactive, fit and healthy person, who is caring, supportive, enthusiastic, fun-loving, patient, playful and happy to engage, and able to devote a minimum of 6 hours per week.
In order to be considered for the role you would have gained the following skills and experience;
· Some professional experience of working as a carer or in the healthcare industry
· Passionate about making a difference to an individual’s day to day life.
· Reliable and have a flexible approach
· Excellent communication skills
· Good time keeping
Desirable skills;
· Current and clean driving licence
The member of staff would be expected to:
· Preserve independence and dignity of the young person as much as possible.
· Managing personal care with both dignity and respect
· Observation of mental alertness, health and general physical condition
· Ability to work positively autonomously and as part of a team.
· Fit, able and healthy person.
· Preserve family's right to confidentiality and privacy and discretion at all times.
· Be willing to learn and be adaptable to different daily situations that arise.
· Participate in training according to the young persons specific needs and requirements.
· To work in accordance with your job description/contract of employment.
Our programme uses person-centred approaches such as Intensive Interaction/Option Process and Holistic/Massage/Movement/Play-based/Music/Therapeutic techniques.
We are now interviewing people with a variety of skills and interests, who want to participate with us and learn new communication methods such as Intensive Interaction and AAC methods.
A variety of shifts available daily, including weekends and evenings.
