Carer Communication Support Worker

Adventurous, reliable and energetic individual sought to join a small team providing personal care and support to a young man with physical disabilities, currently studying Astronomy and Planetary Science at home with the Open University.
The young man leads an active and positive life and needs a dynamic, responsible and caring individual to support his physical and mental wellbeing. The role involves all aspects of personal care, and assisting with activities of daily living, including social support. You will provide specialist communications support to facilitate social communication in a range of settings (full training will be provided).
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who likes travelling both in the UK and overseas. This will involve weekend and overnight excursions with the family. The post will also involve extensive time working away from the UK. In particular your role will involve working for extended Summers in Greece.

Degree level education
Previous care and support experience
experience with special needs and disabilities.
Full driving licence
This is a full time salaried and permanent post with a salary scale of 21,500 to 24,500, depending upon experience. The role involves shift working, with flexible hours (annualised, averaging 37.5 hrs per week), and shifts will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
