Duration: Full time 9am-6pm Monday to Friday including on call duties.
Basis: Permanent contract subject to satisfactory performance in six month probationary period.
This is a full-time office-based position, although you will need to undertake emergencies cover during staff shortages , home visits to clients to carry out reviews and hold staff meetings.
Overview- to assist the Care Manager in all aspects of the day to day running of the service ensuring positive outcomes for our clients. To maintain the quality of the service by complying with the company’s policies and procedures and by adhering to CQC care standards and requirements.
Main responsibilities: To prepare weekly rotas for clients in-line with client requirements and carer defined availability. To carry out client and carer administration tasks.
Scope of duties:
Prepare weekly rotas
Update daily Rota changes on rostering software
Answer incoming calls
Record client/staff issues on care management system
Update client care plans
Provide care cover where necessary
Cover on-call duties
Manage staff leave, absence, maternity etc.
Organise and conduct staff meetings
Carry out staff supervisions and appraisals
Organise and co-ordinate client reviews
Arrange shadowing
Co-ordinate new clients/carers
Manage and record medication administration matters
Provide cover for care co-ordinators when necessary
All other care administration duties as required by the business
Person Specification
Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills. The ability to listen, to follow and understand instructions. Attention to detail.
Thinking style: A logical and rational approach to resolving problems and making decisions. Able to use initiative and intuition. Flexible and adaptable, covering colleagues when necessary. Drive and motivation. Evidence of interest to learn and succeed.
Working with others: Strong customer focus, prioritising customer needs and requests. A welcoming and approachable style to customers and team members alike. Empathy.
Values: Kind and respectful, trustworthy. Understanding older people’s needs and a commitment to providing care of the highest quality which promotes people’s rights and choices.
Time Management: Good organisational skills-ability to meet deadlines and plan ahead. Prioritising workload and being able to react to the unexpected calmly and logically.
Qualifications
Educated to GCSE or above
QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care preferred
experience
Previous care experience/care coordinator role is a must with disabilities information.
Using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and databases
Knowledge
IT literate with knowledge of different types of software
Knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2008
Knowledge of CQC fundamental standards
