Sweet Things based in Primrose Hill has been established for 12 years, the Primrose Hill cafe and bakery opened 6 years ago. We have won 12 Great Taste Awards for our products. We pride ourselves on everything being made in house with attention to detail.
This is a really exciting role for someone wishing to further their cake baking and decorating skills in a lovely independent bakery and cafe.
The bakery has a small team of 2 bakers, working closely with the cafe staff to ensure cake counter is well stocked daily and throughout the day.
This role entails:
Baking all our mixes from scratch including making bars such as brownies, flapjacks and s’mores bars.
We bake cookies, granola, mini sourdough pizzas and quiches too.
Birthday cakes that are delivered via courier all over London or collected from the shop form a large part of the role too. Baking from scratch, making the buttercream and ganache, then icing and decorating the cakes.
Some bespoke cake work too.
Commercial experience is essential, either in a bakery, hotel, or restaurant environment.
Hours 7.30/8am-3.30/4pm 5 days a week including weekends.
Looking for a passionate cake baker who really loves this sort of hands on role, and enjoys developing new flavours, keeping up with cake trends, and of course likes tasting new flavours.
