Coal Rooms is an all day cafe, restaurant and bar situated in the grade II listed old ticket office at Peckham Rye train station.
We have been opened since August with great success and are now looking for a full time cafe manager to run and manage the cafe operation during the day. Due to the location next to the station - it accounts for a huge portion of our daily trade and is a really key part of the business.
The right applicant will have a very strong hospitality background - especially in a cafe / barista operation. We would expect the individual to be confident and knowledgeable specifically on the coffee side of the business with the ability to set standards with regards to the quality of coffee that goes out. As the owners of the business also own Old Spike Roastery - the quality of our coffee is paramount. This will of course be supported with full training.
Responsibilities Include:
- Run all aspects of the cafe operation
- Ordering supplies and stock
- Cash up
- Organising and communicating staff Rota
- Interviewing and managing trial shifts for new cafe members
- Ensuring staff are meeting expectations and following protocol
- Effective communication with AM and GM
In terms of personal attributes - we really need a 'people person'; someone who is good with customers and other staff members a like and can be a positive source of energy throughout the day. We would also like the individual to be pro-active with ideas and suggestions, reliable, have great attention to detail and lead by example.
We are offering a very competitive salary with performance related bonus included as well as some great discounts on our food!
