Experienced Cafe Assistant Manager required ( Full Time)

Ahimsa The Vegan Cafe has been open since December 2021 with the aim of providing delicious, healthy and great value vegan food to the general public with exceptional customer service. We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated full time Café Assistant Manager to join our professional and friendly team in a busy and vibrant working environment. The assistant manager will look after all aspects of running the café and deputise for the café manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Managing staff to ensure all café duties are completed effectively and efficiently
• Ensuring that food and drink is of a consistently high standard
• Serving customers and ensuring that customers are served with care in a prompt and friendly manner
• Ensure that resources are used as effectively and efficiently as possible
• Stock check and ordering food and consumables
• Ensuring that staff comply with all Health, Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
• Create, maintain and manage staff rotas
• Training new staff
• Opening and closing the café
• Opening /Closing the till
• Food preparation, making juices, smoothies, teas and coffee
• Any other duties commensurate with the role including assisting in the kitchen
Job Requirements:
• Previous experience in a hospitality/catering environment
• Barista experience (desirable)
• Late evening and weekend availability
• Great customer service skills
• Friendly and welcoming disposition
• Motivated with good communication skills
• Flexible and good team player
• High standards of personal and food hygiene
• Eligibility to work in the UK

• Assisting the chef with Food preparation
• Preparation of juices, smoothies, teas and coffee
• Ensuring that food and drink is of a consistently high standard and well presented
• Serving and treating customers with care in a prompt and friendly manner
• Operating the till
• compliance with all Health, Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
• Setting up and setting down the café
• Washing up, tidying up, clearing tables and ensuring the café is clean and tidy
• Any other duties commensurate with the role
Job Requirements:
