Re:Centre is a new concept opening on the Thames Path where visitors can find a sanctuary of rest and reflection – a space to connect to ourselves and others in an authentic and balanced way. In this fast-paced and action-oriented world, it is here we are able to find a connection to ourselves, and to our innate inner creative flow. The space will comprise of a rental workshop space, artists residence, yoga studio, café, event and exhibition hall, treatment rooms and a rest area.
Purpose of the Job/ Principal Duties:
To ensure the seamless running of the cafe in the most efficient and effective manner delivering the highest possible standards of service, whilst being pro-active in maintaining and/or improving turnover and profitability. This key individual must be responsible and reliable with a keen interest in healthy food, customer service and staff management. Our key approach is offering sustainable, seasonal fare - with a focus on seasonal, and as far as possible, local produce. Our mission to be sustainable has led us to the decision to be meat-free, but we would like our consumers to experience inventive, exciting and celebratory ways of enjoying seasonal produce whilst eating less meat, and focusing more on the bounty of seasonal produce on our doorsteps.
Responsibilities

Be responsible for and oversee all aspects of the cafe.
Agree and implement actions to continuously improve the guest experience.
Protect the health, safety and well being of our guests and colleagues.
Seek and maximize revenue opportunities and minimise costs.
Work closely with the Café Head Chef to ensure a seamless operation.
Develop a culture of actively seeking feedback from customers on a regular basis and responding efficiently.
Maintain and further enhance relationships within the immediate locality.
Build and maintain an efficient team of employees, driving the team towards the objectives of the business.
Recruit and select employees to the agreed staffing levels using cost effective recruitment methods.
Develop a calendar of all key training, identifying training needs and capability gaps within the team.
Ensure regular meetings take place with staff to ensure the team are fully briefed and action points are recorded and achieved.
Be aware and notify your team of any menu changes, special requirements (including menu items and dishes), outstanding orders or work tasks required prior to the commencement of service.
Review and communicate financial information to assist in proactive and timely decision making.
Control costs without compromising standards and customer experience.
Develop a positive and direct relationship with all colleagues.
Respond quickly and positively to changing requirements whether within the department or outside in order to meet business demands.

Requirements

Proven experience as Café Manager
Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
Good understanding of useful computer programs.
