We are looking for a new member to add to our small team.
You will need to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week (12 hours between Tuesday - Sunday) and you will need to work occasional weekends (all of which are mornings and afternoons).
A little about us: A cosy but busy Café in Ladywell, we make all of our products in store daily (which consists of cakes, sandwiches, paninis, salads, biscuits, smoothies, milkshakes and so on) and we change our menu weekly. We do love a good coffee. We seat 24 inside and we have a lovely garden which seats an additional 24, and most days we are full house. There are also 2 rabbits.
About you:
We need a coffee drinker and maker, someone confident enough to make sandwiches and prepare a range of food (and being partial to a good piece of cake will probably be of great benefit as we feed you cake). Also enjoying food will help, as you will be expected to input ideas for menus.
experience in making cakes and the like would be a plus, although not necessary.
You will need to be friendly and enthusiastic, our customers love a good chat.
You won't be expected to 'talk for England', but if you are introverted you will find this job incredibly difficult. You must also speak very clear English.
The ability to work on your own initiative is absolutely vital as you will often be left to your own devices, and you will also need to work well with your colleagues as there is no 'alpha attitude' here.
You must also have exceptional personal hygiene as everything we make is from scratch and therefore very hands on. Also, health and safety guidelines.
Shifts are:
0800 - 14.00 and 12.30 - 18.30 on Tues - Saturday ,
and 10.00 - 18.30 Sunday.
Nobody likes working the weekends, we understand. However; you will be expected to alternate with other staff so everyone gets some free. If you can 'never work weekends' or expect all of them off, this is not the job for you.
Pay is £7.70, 100% of the tips are for the staff.
YOU WILL BE ASKED TO DEMONSTRATE COFFEE MAKING. If you cannot do this, you will not be asked to return. If your application is successful, you will need to be available sometime between 15.00 - 17.30 Tues - Sun (or any part of a Monday) to come see us for a chat, so please bare this in mind.
