We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative brunch chef to join our friendly team at Sawyer and Gray. A friendly and very approachable personality is required. Attention to detail and ability to work to time schedules and under your own initiative is essential. Motivation and energy to go the extra mile. Strong organisational skills and a focus on cleanliness. Sense of responsibility and commitment.
The role requires mixed duties which predominantly involves food, preparing orders, assisting us in developing our creative brunch and evening menus. Our menu combines Antipodean, European or British Inspired cuisine so a solid understanding of this type of menu is required. Thinking of ways we can improve our service times. You will need a knowledge of the current London brunch trends and the ability to think ‘ outside the box ’ with seasonal ingredients. Ensuring all plates leave the kitchen to a constant standard of quality, quantity and presentation.
The successful candidate will also have a key role and essential link between the floor and the kitchen. This could include training, ingredient information so that the floor staff can sell our food offer with confidence and passion.
Baking and bread making experience would be an advantage.
Must be able to work weekends.
Training key floor staff to step into the food counter role, basic food prep and plating of specials to allow us greater flexibility with rostering and weekend days off requests. Both owners have a hands on role in the business so you will be working closely with them on developing new ideas.
An oppportunity also exists for the successful person to run their own evenings / pop ups on a profit share basis.
The position is available now however we can be flexible for the right person.
Minimum Level 2 food safety required.
£9 - £12 per hour depending on experience.
