Part-Time Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant
We have a vacancy for a part-time bookkeeper/accounts assistant.
This is an exceptionally varied role in a busy and creative environment. As a key part of the team, you will work with our financial controller and assistant accountant, directors and admin team to keep the office running smoothly. You will be logical thinking to work semi-autonomously and ask the right questions. You won’t give up easily, being inventive and resourceful to solve problems. You must be an excellent communicator, meticulous and self-motivated.
You will also be a member of the admin team and will work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the whole office is running smoothly.
The position will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:
– Purchase ledger – checking and processing invoices, dealing with invoice queries, process payments on Sage 50
– Sales Ledger – raising invoices in a timely manner, logging receipts and allocating to the correct project stages, credit control, issuing rechargeable expenses invoices
– Staff Expenses – checking, coding and processing expenses
– Credit card reconciliation – collect receipts, ensure they are reconciled and correctly entered in the system
– Dealing with daily petty cash transactions and ensuring reconciliations are completed on a weekly basis
– Processing payments, maintaining and reconciling general ledgers on Sage line 50
– Dealing with necessary accounts administration.
– Maintaining filing system / Archiving
Qualities and skills required:
– Minimum 1 years relevant experience
– Finance degree or studying towards AAT/ACCA
– Working knowledge of Sage Line 50 would be a plus
– MS Office skills
– experience with Union Square/Deltek’s Workspace an advantage
– High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
– Outstanding organisational skills and a lot of common sense
– Discrete and diplomatic, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
– Confidence in dealing with people at all levels.
– Interest in the creative disciplines an advantage
Hours: Usually 9am to 6pm (with one hour lunch), Wednesday - Friday.
Salary: £12,600 Full time equivalent £21,000
