In 2015, Stuck in dead-end jobs running a Grill House over in Haggerston with little prospects and no future, we decided we needed to do something new.
So we bought a Camper van, removed one of the wheels and turned it into rotating kebab spit, and set out in pursuit of the perfect shawarma. Our travels took us far and wide, from Green Lanes to Dalston and on to Golders Green. In the end, we came back none the wiser. Such is life.
Everybody has a travel story. Luckily most aren't true.
Berber and Q Shawarma Bar opened on Exmouth Market in July 2021, specialising in rotisserie Middle Eastern meats slow-cooked over charcoal and wood.
We love our wines and offer an ever-changing wine list of small producers crafting genuine and real wines. We do love cocktails as well and we've got a list inspired by Middle Eastern flavours, aromas and spices.
