We are a family of three, with a lovely 9-year-old boy in Year 5 at school. Mum is going back to work and we are looking for a caring nanny to help us with the before and after school routine for our son. This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday spanning term time and school holidays.
We are looking for a committed, mature and autonomous nanny to help Mum and Dad with the school run morning and afternoon.
The hours for the role are approximately 7.20 to 8.50 mornings and 3.30pm to 7.30pm evenings. There are some afternoons when our son will attend after school clubs with the hours remaining static.
We require the nanny to carry out the following daily duties:
• Prepare a hearty and nutritious breakfast in the morning
• Take our son to school for a timely start mornings and pick him up punctually afternoons (school is an 8- to 10-minute walk from our house)
• Take our son to after school clubs on some weekdays, requiring bus travel
• Provide a healthy snack on arrival home
• Help with Year 5 homework (Key stage 2), English, reading, maths, instrument practice
• Prepare a healthy and fresh dinner daily
• Supervise showers
• Tidy up play area and kitchen daily
• Weekly laundry (child’s) and ironing (child’s)
• Own child’s weekly meal planners and food shopping list (for parents to have ready)
• Ad hoc errand to supermarket when child’s food runs low
We place great importance in our son’s nutrition and believe in providing freshly cooked meals daily. The nanny must therefore be a confident cook (recipes will be basic).
The ideal nanny for us will have the following profile:
• Be kind, caring, responsible, committed and mature
• Be a non-smoker
• Have a good command of written and spoken English
• Languages (Spanish would be a plus)
• Have verifiable references
• Ideally be DBS cleared and have a paediatric first aid certificate (some flexibility)
• Have initiative and be able to make decisions on her own, be autonomous
• Be able to help our son consistently with school work
• Be able and prepared to cook daily from fresh
• Be committed to staying with us at least for the whole academic year until July 2022
• Possess a flair for engaging with school-age children, be persuasive
• Have plenty of childcare experience with children this age
For the right candidate we can offer:
• A fixed amount of weekly hours’ pay (27.5 hrs./week) term time and school holidays
• Pay will be fixed and paid monthly
• Salary will be based strictly on age and proven (and verifiable) experience but will be in the region of £11-£12nph. (References are a must)
