The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is currently recruiting for a number of roles at its exciting new opening in London. The right candidate will have an exceptional knowledge and passion for whisky, and be looking for a position that enables you to advocate this wonderful spirit in its purest form to our guests and members. experience in cocktail bars is desirable, but full training will be given. Full and Part time positions available, with a competitive salary and package. Immediate start available for the right candidates. Interviews will be held within the next week.

The Company
Founded in Edinburgh in 1983, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) is an international whisky club that bottles the world’s widest selection of exceptional and rare single cask spirits. Each cask is unique and by definition a limited edition. SMWS is present in 19 countries around the world.
Purpose of the role
The London Venues Barman will report to the Head Barman/Group Venue Manager London. Maintain high standards of service to members, their guests and visitors by providing knowledgeable and correct information. To increase members’ participation in the Society and to promote whisky sales, memberships and Society events.

Desirable experience
• 2 to 3 years in a relevant Hospitality position

You should be fluent in English.
Key Tasks
1. Assist with develop product offering in the bars in discussion with the Venue Manager/Head Barman
a. Ensure regular introduction of new products on the bar to retain competitive,
Participate in Cocktail training and Whisky Outturn tasting session
2. With the Venue Manager/Head Barman maintain an effective Stock system; monitor of all stock to and from the bar
3. Assist with the smooth and efficient way of running the venue
a. Ensure good communications between all venue staff and other departments.
b. Participate in staff meetings as and when required.
c. Ensure all areas are clean and tidy at all times.
d. To encourage and support the integration of food service within the venue.
e. Check, float, check and record sales and cash up at the end of each shift
f. In compliance with licensing regulations, open and close Members Bar
g. Ensure bar area and the venue is kept clean and tidy at all times.
