An experienced PART TIME BARTENDER is required in this very traditional London Gentleman’s Club based in Mayfair. Hours are 25 per week (1800-2300 Monday-Friday). No weekend work.
This role is in a very traditional environment of a Gentleman’s Club which was founded in 1919. It is where the cocktail Buck's Fizz was invented. The membership is men only but lady guests are very welcome and the club is not open to the public: members and their guests only. There is only one bar and the bar only has one bartender – potentially you – so please be aware that you will be working by yourself. Sometime it is very busy but often quiet so if you are looking for a frantic, very busy and noisy environment which would benefit from frequent demonstrations of your mixology skills this job is not for you. The members are very discerning, polite, affluent and very pleasant. They expect the bartender to know their name and what they like to drink. It is important that you speak and understand English very well. Often the hours are long so you need to live within easy travelling distance of Mayfair.
The ideal candidate will: have excellent previous general bartender experience including mixing traditional cocktails; have good wine and spirit knowledge; be articulate and welcoming; be well educated; be very well presented; be happy to work independently; be prepared to work long hours – after 2300 hrs; be fluent in both verbal and written English and also be keen to learn new skills. Reliability, trustworthiness, discretion and honesty are an absolute must.
Duties to include: set up and close down procedures; take orders and serve drinks at bar and tables; stock control; restocking; cash and electronic till handling; keeping bar and bar area immaculately tidy and clean;
Annual salary for this part-time role is in the region of £13,000. Paid monthly.
Available from about 7 August.
