Brill is a much-loved neighbourhood café and record shop. We are looking for a full-time barista all-rounder, 40 + hours per week including some weekend shifts. We are after someone who is passionate about food, coffee and music. We pay £8.50 per hour, plus twenty days holiday and bank holidays per year. We love: getting to know our customers, discussing the genius of Carrie Brownstein, debating Marmite versus Vegemite, Patti Smith, Sylvester’s high notes, dancing to ska, dreadful puns and people who return their dirty cups. If you feel the same we’d love to hear from you. Brill prides itself on the excellence of our coffee and food, our impeccable taste in music and the friendliness of our staff. You must have had at least two years experience working in an independent cafe. We would expect you to be equally confident in making great coffee, serving customers and preparing bagels/salads to a high standard. Confidence in latte art and basic coffee machine maintenance are also essential. You will be used to working as part of a team in a small and fast-paced environment. You must be able to speak English fluently and also have the necessary work permit (if applicable).
