We’re looking for a skilled barista to join our independent bakery-café, making delicious coffee in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Bread By Bike began in a tiny kitchen, where our founder baked sourdough to procrastinate work. When his bread began winning awards and a crowdfunding campaign raised nearly double its target amount, he found premises and set up shop. In the eight months Bread By Bike has been open it’s been a huge success, building up a loyal base of local customers who love popping in for fresh bread and a cracking flat white! Now we want a skilled barista to help raise our coffee game to the next level.

The ideal candidate will be a fully-trained barista, who knows their way around a coffee machine and grinder. For this reason, we imagine they’ll have around a year’s experience in a café environment. Working full time (7 hours a day, with breaks, 4 or 5 days a week), they’ll be energetic, personable, able to stay cool under pressure and able to pour coffee that makes people’s day brighter. They’ll be engaging with customers too, so will also need good interpersonal skills.

We’re looking for a positive, enthusiastic individual who is as passionate about good coffee as we are. This role will grow as the bakery does, so the right candidate will find themselves building a team around them and becoming Head of Coffee.

What you’ll need:

Full barista training, with knowledge of grind control, espresso preparation, latte art (and ideally different brewing methods, though this is not essential)

experience working in a café environment
