BAR RESTAURANT STAFF Vacancy – Full Time - BBC CLUB
Mon-Fri (40 hours per week)
The BBC Club provides recreational, social and leisure services, facilities and activities to its members, made up of staff and partners of the BBC. With two sites across London much of the activity is centered on the Club’s food and beverage outlets.
Right now, we are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and outgoing Food and Beverage Assistant to join our team. Purpose of this role is preparation and service of bar and restaurant and include some kitchen based tasks. We’ve got vacancy at our W1 site at Great Portland Street for someone to work around 40 hours per week including the evenings and some weekends.

• A solid command of English
• Documentation supporting your eligibility to work in England

Job Title: Food and Beverage Assistant
Base: BBC Club W1
Reporting to: Club Manager
Salary Guide: £8.45 per hour (rising to £8.95 after 3 months)
Time: Mon – Fri (40 hours per week, shift pattern)
Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Club Manager, this role ensures the smooth operation of all food and beverage areas while maintaining regular liaison with the Club Manager to ensure relevant information is shared in a timely manner. The F and B Assistant is responsible for personal health and safety compliance.
This role requires flexibility and a multi-tasking, customer-focused approach to service delivery. As an ambassador for the Club, this role will also encompass some communication of membership offers and benefits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
 Preparation and service of restaurant to include kitchen based tasks
 Service of drinks, including preparation of hot drinks and table service
 Setting-up, tidying and cleaning of preparation and service areas
 Taking payment for food and drink and making up bills
 Following Club cash handling procedures
 Delivering pro-active customer service with a smile
 Familiarising yourself with all products and services provided by the Club in its entirety and providing active assistance in the promotion and development of these products and services to maximize sales opportunities
 Actively promoting membership and offers
 Ensuring effective communication;
 Communicating effectively with colleagues and management in line with briefing systems
 Reporting all maintenance faults to the manager on duty.
2. Sales and Marketing
 Supporting the Membership function in achieving the Club’s business objectives, specifically helping to meet monthly membership targets
3. Legal and Policy Responsibilities
 Adhering to all statutory requirements in respect of fire, health and safety, hygiene, licence, security and insurance.
 Adhering to Club policies and procedures.
4. Ad Hoc duties
 Being flexible to meet business needs by working late evenings, weekends and other London Club sites as necessary
 Carrying out any other reasonable request made by the Supervisor, Club Manager or Senior Management Team
