Bar and Retail Manager Required– The Cider House London, Borough Market.
A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and highly motivated real cider connoisseur at our Cider House Bar in London’s famous Borough Market.
The Cider House London is a family run business and an arm of The New Forest Cider company. We produce our own traditional ciders on our farm and predominately sell our ciders draught along with a whole range of small craft cider producers. We also have a wholesale business within the market and sell direct to pub and restaurants. We are particularly looking to grow this side of the business.
We’re looking for someone who already has expertise and experience in a bar and/or a retail environment, someone who already possesses key management skills, or perhaps some one who, with the relevant background, is looking to progress their career and take on a new challenge within the management sector.
You will need to already hold your own personal licence to sell alcohol and have a full understanding of relevant legislation regarding the service of alcohol and licensing.
This is a full time position of generally forty hours per week, but more during busy seasonal periods, holiday time and as the business dictates. Shifts are straight with only occasional evenings required.
With a real passion and understanding of traditional cider, you will be flying our company flag, keen to share your enthusiasm for artisan products and be interested in promoting new and small producer ciders on a weekly basis.
This is a new full time role for The Cider House London and we expect a full commitment to the business with no other side employment or freelance work to be undertaken.

At least two years experience in a bar or beverage service operation
A personal licence to sell alcohol
Complete working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Knowledge of business management principles and practices
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Knowledge of cost control procedures
Knowledge of Human Resource management practices
Knowledge of administrative procedures
Knowledge of relevant computer applications
Knowledge of Ipad
Fluent in spoken English
Be personable and interested in other people
Be confident and self motivated
Demonstrate a passionate commitment to the business
Welcome and embrace change with a positive attitude
Be able to work unsupervised in a busy environment
Be able to prioritise duties
Be honest and reliable
Be trustworthy and respectful
Maintain excellent time–keeping and attendance
Be professional at all times.
