Peabody has 2 exciting opportunity opportunities for Bank Relief Support Workers to join our team based at The Sundial Centre in London. You will join us on an annualised hours contracts where you are paid to work an average of up to 336 hours over the year, and will receive a competitive salary of £10.20 per hour.
The Bank Relief Support Workers role:
2 Exciting new opportunities have arisen within Peabody. These are annualised hours contracts, where you are paid to work an average of up to 336 hours over the year. The contract offers flexibility with periods of non-working. There will be a combination of compulsory and flexible hours that you will be required to work. This way of working will provide you with guaranteed income for the year. You will be required to cover for employee sickness absence, annual leave and any other absences.
Key responsibilities as the Bank Relief Support Workers:
- Provide physical, emotional and social support to day care customers.
- Participate in regular escort duties
- Assist in maintaining the day centre environment.
- Take the lead in providing and delivering activities and attend outings; encourage customer participation and monitor attendance; evaluate outcomes.
- To be involved in the planning, proactive delivery and monitoring of diverse, integrated activity programme.
- Advocate on behaviour of customer with matters relating to their health and well-being bring concerns to a satisfactory resolve.
- Follow Peabody’s Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace.
Knowledge/skills/experience required by the Bank Relief Support Workers:
- Basic first aid qualified
- Health and Social Care at Level 2
- PATS qualification escorting on transport.
- experience of working with older adults in a paid or unpaid setting; ability to engage older adults through interaction.
- Understanding issues associated with ageing and adult social care.
- Demonstrable ability to empathise
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- experience in personal care provision; certified and experienced in moving and handling people.
- Certified in food and hygiene standards.
- experience and interest in providing day care activities.
- Ability and knowledge to promote independence in others.
