Bank Laundry Assistant - £7.52 plus weekend premiums
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Laundry Assistant to join our Laundry Team at Mission Care. We are inviting candidates with a positive caring attitude to come and join our care teams in our nursing homes.
As a Bank Laundry Assistant, you will be working as part of a team supporting the Laundry Supervisor in order to maintain the smooth running of the Laundry department.
Summary of your duties will include but not limited to:
• Sorting of soiled linen and clothing observing hygienic working practises
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Sorting. Ironing and packing of clean linen and clothing in preparation for forward delivery
• Operation of laundry equipment to include:
• Industrial washing machines / Industrial tumble dryers/rotary ironing press/Industrial hand steam iron
• Fold clothing and linen and sort into containers for individual residents
As part of your role you will be expected to:
• To be familiar with, and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Laundry department, such as infection control, COSHH regulations.
• Adhere to company’s Health and safety policy and report any accident that may occur.
• Ensure the laundry equipment is operated safely and in accordance with relevant instructions and that all equipment is appropriately maintained and serviced
• To be punctual and arrive to work in good time
Skills required
You will need to have a mature and responsible attitude to work, with the ability to perform task of a physical nature have a positive “Can do attitude” or previous experience of working in a nursing home environment with an understanding of dementia.
