About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to really interact with the local community of Bromley whilst working at Mission Cafe, the leading dementia friendly cafe. As the Barista you will contribute and take responsibility towards the efficient running of the coffee shop promoting a positive experience for all our customers. You will serve all products with friendly individualised attention towards the customer ensuring customers are educated on products and services. Ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times, especially when preparing hot beverages and food for customers. Get to know the products on offer and maintain an understanding of various types of coffee, tea products, blends and roasts. Assist with deliveries and stock control when necessary.

Skills required
• experience within a customer service environment within hospitality or retail.
• Ability to multi task and detail orientated.
• Strong communication skills
• Maintain a focus on personal development, endeavouring to become better at doing the job.
• experience of working in a kitchen environment.
• Food hygiene certificate level 1 or 2.

It is important that you engage with customers and that you can demonstrate an awareness of dementia, and that you serve them in a friendly and positive manner demonstrating empathy for the elderly. It is important that all customers receive a positive welcoming and relaxing experience.
