Main Duties
To be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a vehicle and to transport customer’s goods to/from the vehicle. To pack/unpack and handle customer’s possessions where necessary
Responsibilities (as appropriate)
to drive the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner
to be responsible for locking, parking, as well as cleaning, Fuelling etc.
to carry out daily checks on vehicle - oil, water, lights, fluids, tyres
to report on any accident to vehicle or its load
to ensure adequate packing materials/equipment/first aid kit/protection for customer's home are on the vehicle
to deliver packing materials as required
to collect used materials from customer's home for re-cycle - return unused materials
to complete legal and Company documentation (e.g. Tachographs)
to maintain a safe working environment
to wear appropriate goggles, boots, gloves etc.
to read and receive instructions
to pack/unpack customers effects
to transport customers effects to/from vehicle
to liaise with customer regarding placement of effects and unpacking where required
to ensure paperwork for each move is complete and returned to appropriate member of staff
to collect monies if/when required and hand to office; deposit cash in night safe as appropriate
to notify and liaise with appropriate member of staff should any problems occur
to work in accordance with the Operating Procedures
to sort weigh and measure customer effects
to maintain confidentiality at all times
to comply with Health and Safety legislation and the Health and Safety Policy
to comply with the Environmental Policy
to Stow goods within bays or pallet boxes or other suitable locations
to create a packing inventory where required
any other duties as may be requested by the Company
