Luxembourg - a multicultural international European capital city.
Location: beautiful village of Helmsange in Luxembourg, 8 minutes by train from the city. 15 minutes’ bus journey to the city centre. Lots of Au Pairs in the area.
City Centre offers: language schools, swimming pool, tennis courts, shopping centre and lots more. ** language courses are paid for by the host family.
Excellent location to travel at weekends. Cities eg. Trier, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Metz all less than 3 hours by train and easy to get to.
Family:
Single, professional mum with 3 girls (13, 11,
9) And a boy (13). Family moved from Scotland in 2012. The children attend local German/French speaking schools. ** the family have a weekly cleaner.
The children are described as; bright, sporty, outgoing and have busy afterschool schedules. They have built positive relationships with previous Au Pairs.
Accommodation offered:
Basement converted to an apartment with own entrance. Private area with large bedroom, kitchen/living area. High speed Wi-Fi.
Days and hours of work
30 hours per week spread over 6 days. The mum is super organised and has a schedule. Typical hours: Monday and Wednesday and Friday from 4.30 – 7.30pm | Tuesday and Thursday 12.30 – 5pm. Saturday – few hours to take children to activities.
Other details
The mother works 4 full days so you would also be expected to help prepare cold dinner for all the kids when they return from after school club. Also support during the weekends with taking kids to sporting activities (rugby, Hockey, piano etc.) Family have a cleaner so no cleaning. Also babysitting when necessary.
Ideal candidate will:
- Native French or German or English speaker
- Aged 22 years +.
- Have some experience in childcare with a genuine interest in working with children.
- Very engaging, chatty who enjoys outdoor activities and keeping busy.
- A good sense of humour is a must.
- Open minded, flexible with a professional manner and easy to approach.
- Driver is a bonus but not a must.
Pay and conditions:
- 480 euros / month (au pair rate) for 30 hour working week.
- Free Luxembourg bus and train pass.
- Language class (various languages offered)
- start by early October and commit 6 months min - over would be a bonus.
