Au Pair Live in for Family in London

Posted: 3 days ago
Place: Wandsworth, London

We are an extremely friendly family living in a five bedroom house by Wandsworth Common, SW18 London, with a six year old girl and a four year old boy. We are looking for a caring, fun person to join our family, helping us with our children, and general housework.
We need someone who has excellent spoken English, experience looking after young children and enjoys playing with toddlers.
We would primarily want you to be happy and we have now had four au pairs- each has stayed over a year and they remain great friends with us. They would all tell you how happy their time has been and we would be delighted for you to talk to them about what life is like in our family!
If possible we would really like someone who would like their career to be working with children- either as a teacher/ classroom assistant or anything to do with children and their educational needs. However, we are happy to chat to anyone who is enthusiastic about looking after children.
You will live in a nice, happy home with your own large bedroom, equipped with TV, DVD player, broadband internet and access to a bathroom next door which you'll have pretty much sole use of. We have a garden and are close to a variety of excellent shops and transport into central London is close by.
Salary to be discussed dependent on experience. You should be a non-smoking female and 19 of over.
It would be fantastic if you are able to drive- a short distance (three roads away to the school and back). This is not however a requirement- a real bonus!
When applying please provide a CV, age, references and photos. We are keen to employ someone to start from end of September/ November (ideally November but we can be flexible to start earlier or later). The latest start date is December). You must be available to meet either on Skype or in London for a face to face interview beforehand. We can answer any questions you may have.
We have two children- a girl aged six and a boy aged four.
Our daughter is great fun and a real character but loves interaction and keeping busy. She is bright and loves to be spoken to like an adult- for this reason we would need someone with very good spoken English. She will also need someone who will be happy to help with her reading and writing homework. Our daughter adores creating things and learning. She also loves being outside and we are looking for someone who will be happy to take her on activities and explore all kinds of play options.
Our son is a great character - he loves being outside and being played with. He will start school in September.
From September both children will be at school from 8.15am- 3.30pm so you will have lots of free time during the day. You will need to prepare breakfast/ dress the children and take them to school each day. There will then be time off until 3.30pm. I work from home on Fridays so this would be a much more free day as I would do the school pick ups.
There are lots of activities in the afternoon- ballet, playball, swimming etc- and playdates with other nannies/ au pairs so you will find the days varied and fun. It would be also expected that you would help them with their homework.
You should be able to speak very good English, show initiative and have an energetic, positive and fun attitude to life. We live near a large park and you should enjoy being outside, taking our children for walks etc. Other duties would include cooking children's food, light general housework such as ironing, washing and cleaning, plus up to two evenings baby sitting per week.
We are particularly keen that the hours you work are able to cover for us when we leave for work in the morning and early evening as we are in full time demanding jobs. All my family live within a few roads and my sister is a qualified child Minder so is able to provide support during the day.
