Au Pair Position in Fulham
Live-in position with a young Fulham based family with two children (very soon to be three) – a daughter aged 5 years and a son aged 2 years 9 months, with a newborn due imminently (January 2022). You would be provided with an en-suite double bedroom in a newly refurbished lower ground floor, with your own SkyQ TV access (with box sets/movies) and high speed internet, as well as your own space in a utility room, with fridge/freezer, kettle and microwave.
The au pair would be there to help the stay-at-home mother to look after the children and generally keep the household running effectively.
Duties and responsibilities to include, but not restricted to:
Assisting to look after the children – could involve playing with them at home, taking them to the park, taking them to organised classes/activities e.g. Swimming or music classes or to play dates. This would be a combination of sole charge and shared care.
Helping with the morning routine (breakfast, getting ready for the day, getting nursery and school bags ready etc.)
Assisting with nursery/school drop off and collection.
Assistance with household laundry, including washing, sorting and ironing.
Helping preparation and supervision of children’s meals and some family batch cooking.
Assisting with bath and bedtime routine
Generally helping to keep the kitchen and playroom tidy e.g. Loading and unloading the dishwasher as needed, putting things away, emptying bins as needed, washing up and sterilising bottles etc.
Generally “mucking in” to help the mother around the house.
Responsible for cleaning and keeping tidy your own room, including washing sheets etc.
Two nights babysitting each week (maximum one on Friday or Saturday)
Majority of the hours would be Monday – Friday with very occasional weekend work required, although this would be scheduled and agreed in advance.
Not expected:
There is a regular cleaner twice a week who does a deeper clean of the kitchen, living room, hallways, bathrooms etc.
Further Details
£120 Per week, plus £20 towards the weekly family food shop.
approximately 30-35 hours a week (not including the two evenings babysitting)
Any additional hours would be paid as overtime at £8 per hour.
Private double bedroom with ensuite facilities in newly refurbished basement.
Outside Work/Study
Happy to try to accommodate where possible and within reason a desire to study or have a suitable second casual job between the hours of c.9.15am and 3pm.
Happy to promote the au pair to friends for babysitting if desired.
Essentials for this position
Very good standard spoken English (preferably first language)
Willing to stay until minimum September 2022 (preferably longer)
You must be a non-smoker and over 20 years.
Previous childcare experience and enjoy cooking.
Willingness to be flexible according to family’s needs.
