Hello.
We are looking for a energetic, organised and fun au pair to join our family. We are a family of 4 – mum, dad, an 8 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. We live in Wimbledon Park, a safe and friendly area in South West London. We are a five minute walk from Wimbledon Park tube station, from which there are regular tube trains running into central London. We both work full time and the children are at the local primary school (8.45am – 3.15pm Monday to Friday) which is a few minutes’ walk away. Both children are energetic, love sports, music and having fun. We live in a 5 bedroom terraced house in an area close to Wimbledon Park. The area is full of families, many with au pairs, is very safe and quiet but has the advantage that it is easy and quick to get into central London (approximately. 20 minutes). Nearby we have a large park, several shopping centres and a selection of cafes and restaurants.
We would like an enthusiastic, optimistic au pair who is full of energy with a can do attitude. We need someone who is independent and is happy to cook healthy and fun meals for the children. Being a non-smoker is essential. Language courses are available at a local college. Our previous nannies and au pairs have stayed with us for 1 – 2 years.
Start date: Mid to late February 2022
Duration: Someone who can be with us for a minimum of 9 months – ideally longer, previously people have stayed with us 1 – 2 years.
Hours: On average 30 hours / week, sole care – hours will be mainly be 7am – 9am, 3pm - 7pm during term time plus occasional evening babysitting. There will be time available in the day to attend language classes. In school holidays we may need extra hours which will be paid back either in extra days off or additional money.
Duties:
Help getting children up, dressed, breakfast.
Take / collect children from school Mon – Fri.
After school help with homework, play games, planning and preparing healthy evening meals. The children often have friends back to our home after school.
We try to be home for bedtime but you may occasionally need to put the children to bed.
We have a cleaner so do not expect you to clean but we do expect help keeping the house tidy – helping children tidy up Toys, putting away their clean laundry, changing bedsheets, tidying the kitchen after meals, emptying the dishwasher.
Evening babysitting (approximately. 2 evenings / month)
We may need occasional weekend help for a couple of hours taking the children to weekend activities or parties.
What we will offer:
Board and lodging. You will have your own good sized double bedroom with a king sized bed and a desk and TV. The toilet and shower room is next door to your bedroom and is mainly for your use. You will have WiFi access in your room. We will provide (within reason) all your food provided you write your requests on the family shopping list. We provide Kitty money to cover other small food items. We cover council tax and utility bills.
Pocket money - negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications.
A phone and contract or if you already have a contract a contribution towards your monthly bill.
5.6 Weeks holiday a year(including bank holidays) – holidays to be mutually agreed.
First aid – we will arrange for you to attend a 2 day paediatric first aid course run by St John’s Ambulance unless you have been on a recent paediatric first aid course.
