We are a very busy wholesale artisan bakery based in West London, W10, looking to employ an assistant pastry chef/baker within our pastry/cake room. The role would involve preparing a full range of components (Creams, Custards, Choux, Sponges etc.) from scratch in order to  produce a wide range of cakes and classic french patisserie on a daily basis.
A good working knowledge of baking basics is essential as well as a knowledge of food safety. This is an entry level position, however some experience  (1 -2 years) in baking, pastry or cake making would be preferred. Ideally the applicant must be passionate about food, have high standards and be prepared to apply themselves in order to produce high quality items.
The role would require 5 shifts per week with the occasional 6th shift over a Saturday/Sunday. The shift starts at 7am and finishes at 5pm, however in season and over busy periods longer working hours may be required. The position is a permanent one and the starting hourly offer is from £7.50 based on experience. An offer of employment will be based on the applicants experience, skill set,  as well as their willingness to learn.
