We are currently looking for a creative and committed Assistant Head Chef. Lola’s Bakery has a strong emphasis on healthy and delicious food, handcrafted with wholesome natural ingredients, and we offer a variety of gluten free and vegan options - cakes, pastries, salads and sandwiches, and made to order breakfast and lunch dishes. We source local, organic produce and take our customers on a journey towards living a better, healthier life style through our food. We have a small but very professionally equipped kitchen. As a friendly, family run business, we make sure to look after all our employees and reward them handsomely.
The predominate location will be in the kitchens of our West Hampstead bistro, but the role will also include occasional responsibility for our central production kitchens in Park Royal (10 minutes from Harlesden tube station).
The ideal candidate will have extensive commercial experience in kitchens and - in particular - a focus on healthy food. You should have a keen eye for detail and an ability to develop innovative menu options throughout the year, as well as an ability to assist managing a team of kitchen porters and sous chefs. You should have an advanced understanding of health and safety and food safety requirements and an ability to work well under pressure. The team will work closely with our development chef to deliver the menus and challenge the status quo by exploring and experimenting with new ways to use gluten-free, unrefined sugars.
