Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Development Manager to join our team in London. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and you will receive a salary of £32,000 to £37,000 per annum.
The Assistant Development Manager role:
We are looking for passionate and innovative professionals to join our development team. We have a large pipeline of schemes and the capacity and ambition to deliver even more.
Responsibilities of our Assistant Development Manager:
- Support the Senior Development Manager with achieving scheme objectives. Attend appropriate meetings and ensure that Peabody’s interests are protected. This may involve some scheme management under supervision.
- Manage and develop a good working relationship with consultant teams and contractor/developers to ensure that strategic and operational relationships are productive.
- Ensure that the delivery programme is delivered within approved parameters, and maximises financial returns and viability, with any variations and risk mitigation identified at the earliest opportunity.
- Ensure effective risk and budget management proactively on all schemes.
- To maintain effective and timely monthly reporting to Senior Development Manager, Regional Development Manager and the Head of Delivery on any adverse variance and the proposed risk mitigation to rectify.
- Maintain a high performing project management regime for all projects to meet agreed targets on quality and minimisation of defects.
What we’re looking for in our Assistant Development Manager:
- This is an entry level position, so previous experience of construction/development is not essential, but would be advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communications with internal and external parties including residents.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and numerical analysis.
- Some basic understanding of contract law and statutory requirements would be advantageous.
- Evidence of negotiation skills
- A desire to promote Peabody as a brand and create a strong network in the sector.
- An understanding of the Housing Association sector would be preferred, but not essential.
Qualifications required of our Assistant Development Manager:
- None considered essential although professional qualification such as ARB, RTPI, RICS, MCIOB, APM etc. Are desirable.
