Finns of Chelsea is looking for a full time assistant chef to work in our busy Chelsea kitchen.
FINNS OF Chelsea is a long established gourmet food shop and catering business with a busy kitchen behind the shop on Chelsea Green.  It doubles as a delicatessen and cafe with a large catering side all supplied from the same on site kitchen.
We produce fresh food daily to fill the shop and fulfill the pre ordered requests. We are proud of the ingredients we use, carefully sourced from loyal suppliers many of whom we have worked with for years.

We have a regularly changing menu of starters, main dishes, salads, vegetable dishes, Pates, soups, quiches and puddings. The flavour is predominantly traditional British with lots of accents and influences from near and far. We encourage new ideas and welcome the introduction of new recipes to the repertoire. There is plenty of opportunity to create your own dishes throughout the week.

We have an expanding catering business  so there is a lot of customer contact guiding  people through the dinner party and canapé menus,   for 'at home' entertaining , gallery openings, picnics, christenings, sporting events, Ascot, Glyndebourne and more together with office lunches and small corporate events.    Whilst being predominantly in the kitchen there will be times when you are in the shop itself  serving  the customers and helping them plan their events and celebrations.

We have a core team of 4 chefs who work with great humour and conscientiousness.  Everyone works hard to deliver great results and support each other to this end.

Ideally you will have done a professional cookery course and have experience working in a commercial kitchen or catering environment.

The hours are daytime only Monday - Friday 7.30 am - 4.30 pm or 9.30am-6.30pm and one Saturday a month.  In addition to this there is the opportunity to earn extra by working at evening events and first option is always given to the full time staff who work at Finns.
