Job Role: Assistant Accountant – Full-time, Permanent.
Salary: £ 28,000 p.a
An amazing opportunity with a very successful property and asset management company based in North London has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to work as part of a busy team. Reporting to the Group Financial controller your duties will include:
Accounting responsibilities:
Maintenance of property and fund accounting records to include book keeping entries, cash allocations and regular bank reconciliations.
Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts prior to finalising the monthly accounts.
Intercompany reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation of trial balances, monthly management accounts.
Preparation of VAT returns and supporting information.
Subcontractors payments and CIS reports from the accounting system and liaise with Subcontractors on any queries.
Identifying and processing monthly accruals and prepayments.
All aspects of sales and purchase ledger processes and reconciliation.
Suppliers and Landlords Payments.
Assist with the production of annual financial statements and resolving audit queries.
Some other ad hoc duties helping Financial Controller.
Administrative responsibilities include:
Raising maintenance invoices to Landlords.
Preparing profitability reports for landlords (LLs, individual properties).
Import Landlord payment details to Sage from excel sheet.
Posting and allocating rent receivable to Sage.
Skills:
Good knowledge of Sage.
Advanced excel skills. V-LOOK UPS and Pivot tables.
Team player able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Organised and enthusiastic.
Excellent time management.
Strong communication skills.
Ideally, the successful candidate for the Assistant Accountant role will have an AAT qualification or part qualified ACCA along with a strong attention to detail, with a broad spectrum of accounting skills. You will be able to appreciate the wider complexity of an organisation's reconciliation processes, with a mature and conscientious attitude, able to resolve issues to an appropriate conclusion. Be a strong advocate for internal controls and processes to help drive a right first time culture in line with the company and department objectives.
