Hi,
We are a couple, looking for a part-time nanny who can work Monday and Thursday from 7.30am to about 2p or 3p. Can also work any other day for maybe 6 hours. Rough workload is about 20 hours per week (could be a bit or a bit less; we are flexible).
Note, this is not an agency, but directly with us, the family.
We live in Chiswick in a house with our 2 kids (Girl 3, and Boy 1). Our daughter goes to preschool from 9am, and our son stays at home. (Closest tube is Stamford Brook)
The work consists of:
- Mostly taking care of our son who recently turned 1
- Breakfast for my daughter and getting her to preschool at 9am
- Tidying up the Toys and everything to do with the kids (cooking, cleaning dishes for the kids, laundry, etc)
- Ideally if my son is napping and daughter is in preschool for you to help with some tidying up or housekeeping (empty dishwasher, organise kids rooms, fold their laundry, etc)
We have a housekeeper who comes to the house for 3 hours every day, so the main housekeeping is taken care of. But any additional help is useful.
We'd pay market rates according to experience (it varies). We have a nanny payroll service we use and we'd use that. I put on the salary box that it would be between £10-£12 per hour to help clarify.
Dad is a freelance professional and mom is a part-time teacher, otherwise she's a stay at home mom. Dad some times works from home.
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible , so we'll make a decision quickly based on first candidate with a good profile who does well in interviews. Ideally we'd do a short (2-4 hours) trial to see how you get on with the kids.
We prefer a nurturing and very low discipline style of caregiving. This means we will do what is necessary to make the kids stop crying (take them to the garden to watch the birds to distract them, etc). We know this style is not ideal for some nannies, but want to be up front about it.
