Internship at a Framing Art Gallery based in Chelsea, South West London
A reputable Gallery and Framers is looking for an intern to gain first-hand experience in the workings of a commercial business in the arts industry. Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, efficient individual with impeccable insight when working with intricate details.
The role will involve assisting the current Art Consultant/Gallery Assistant and Director with gallery operations; such as and not limited to stepping in as our front of house representative; taking framing orders and advising customers; answering phone calls; taking payments; handling enquiries; selling original artworks; designing advertisements and promoting the business. Full training will be provided.
Applicants must:
- Impeccable mathematical and calculation skills
- A natural salesperson with previous employment in retail, management or administration.
- Possess strong marketing awareness.
- Art, retail and management background.
- Fluent in English and a second European language is highly desired.
- Highly organised.
- Self-motivated and also willing to learn.
- Genuinely interested and passionate about art and people.
- Confident with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite or Corel Draw.
- Possessing a keen eye for detail, good sense of colour and aesthetics.
- Well-spoken, presentable and charismatic.
This position is open to students/ graduates over 18 years old able to work on a part-time basis, Monday-Tuesday 10am-6pm and some Saturdays. Travel and lunch is re-reimbursed plus a daily pay of £20.
