This can be a live-in or a live-out position suitable for a versatile and organised person. Both families live in the busy, bustling area of Shepherd’s Bush and each needs 3 hours a day on weekdays.
Family One: Housekeeper. Light shopping and cooking, laundry, Ironing and cleaning during the day when the children are at school (3 children, 13 +). 15 hours per week, occasionally more.
Family Two: Housekeeper/au-pair. Light shopping and cooking, laundry, Ironing and cleaning during the late afternoon and evening when the children return from school (3 children, 11 +). Overseeing homework, preparing supper and clearing kitchen after. Children are well-trained and helpful. 15 hours per week, occasionally more.
Accommodation, if needed, is with Family Two. A big room in a nice, busy, social and welcoming home.
All parents work and are academics/professionals. The households are both considerate and reasonably flexible hosts, encourage extra study/part-time work and reward responsibility and initiative.
A third local household may also be looking for a couple of hours a day of cooking / cleaning and cheerful domestic support – this could potentially be made to fit.
You must have relevant experience with checkable references, be available for interview and be able to work in the UK. Graduates preferred. There is a very good local nanny and au-pair network and the area is easy to settle in to. Also very good transport links with reliable buses and underground trains nearby.
Starting: September 2022, minimum 8 months commitment. Holidays and usual breaks by discussion. Occasional babysitting and extra hours by arrangement.
Qualities sought: 22 years old minimum, good spoken and written English, punctual, well-organised, non-smoking, lots of common sense and independence, good enough cook, tidy, cheerful, musical, sporty.
Duties: Household laundry, homework supervision, cooking some meals, light, local shopping, control of children’s mess and rooms, household cleaning.
Standard: (£150 + £150) live-out per week or (£150 + £50 + lodging in own room) live-in. Some flexibility for exceptional candidates.
