We are looking for an experienced, reliable, local person between 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm to help with:
Afternoon school run from two schools (a coach pick up on the dot of 4:40 pm followed by pick up at a local school)
Preparing and serving kids’ dinner on weekdays for two active boys (aged 5 and 8).
Helping to keep our house tidy and organized (laundry, putting away Toys, tidying but not deep cleaning)
Periodic evening babysitting, including once a fortnight on weekends.
This role is ideal for someone who loves children and is looking for extra hours to supplement income.
The person we’re looking for will be:
Extremely reliable, and local to West Hampstead, NW6 so there is no risk for transport strike or weather delay.
Fluent in English with proper grammar and understandable accent.
A non-smoker
Trained in first aid
Have experience cooking high quality food for children.
A self starter who seeks to make our hectic household more manageable.
Imaginative and playful, able to play with the boys on their level while also imposing sufficient structure to ensure meals and homework are completed.
About our children:
Our 5 year old is a sensitive, communicative boy who loves being active as much as doing “inside” projects like colouring and playing with Toys. He’s a fussy eater who is improving with age and gentle encouragement. He adores his older brother and thinks he can do whatever his brother can!
Our 8 year old is an active, intelligent boy who has homework most evenings. He gets dropped off via coach on the Finchley Road and most days can be dropped off at home (Dad is often at home, but on the phone). He loves bossing his little brother around and making him laugh. He’s a good listener and has a highly active imagination. He’s hilarious person to be with, unless he’s hungry.
About us as parents:
We live in West Hampstead, just west of West End Lane and just south of Mill Lane.
We are loving, involved and engaged parents. Mum works for the government and Dad is a writer, working mostly from home but is travelling a fair bit.
We don’t have a TV and prefer to walk, scoot or bike instead of driving, where possible.
Dates: Immediate start.
If interested please send us an email or CV with details of your childcare experience and how your full or part time job would fit into your schedule.
Weekly Schedule:
4:30 Pm: Meet 8 year old off coach on Finchley Road (at Heath Road) – drop off at home if Dad at home.
5 Pm: Pick up 5 year old from school (about a mile walk)
5:30 Pm: Home to make dinner / supervise homework.
6:00 Pm: dinner.
6:30 Pm: playtime / tidy up
7:00 Pm: children in bath, then into PJs. One parent will usually be on hand by this point, so ideally use time to clean up from dinner, tidy kitchen and Toys away.
7:30 Pm: children ready for stories and bedtime routine with parents.
We are offering £35.00 per afternoon for four days/week, plus extra for babysitting hours. This role is ideal for someone who has a full-time job beforehand, and is looking to pick up some extra hours; and of course, for someone who loves young children.
