Hello,
We are looking for a LIVE-OUT AFTER-SCHOOL SOLE CHARGE NANNY HOUSEKEEPER from January 8th to look after our 11 year old girl (in year 6 at primary school) and (almost) 9 year old boy.
The position is currently TEMPORARY (2 MONTHS) as our lovely nanny has to go back to mainland Europe to take care of her sick mother. However, the position could extend or become permanent if our nanny is away long-term. We would also consider a shorter contract if it suits the right nanny.
The hours would be Monday to Friday from 3.15pm to 7.15pm - a minimum of 4 hours a day (20 hours a week), but often more if we are running late / going out! It would be ideal, but not crucial, if the nanny were also available during the day should the children be off school. Baby sitting work would also be available evenings/weekends.
Being able to drive and hold a full British driving licence would be a big plus.
The role would involve picking our son and daughter up from school and looking after them until we get home, as well as light housekeeping duties. NB. we have a cleaner who comes once a week and gives the house a thorough clean.
Duties will include; picking up from school, preparing tea, taking to after school activities, supervising homework, taking charge of organising the children's school requirements (e.g. Preparing school uniform, handing in homework, getting school/book bags ready for the next day, forms handed in etc.), tidying bedroom and play area, leaving the kitchen clean and tidy, light housework (e.g. Washing up, filling and emptying dishwasher, doing the washing - NO IRONING! - and sweeping the floors), supervising bedtime and running errands for the family when appropriate (e.g. Post-office, shopping for the children's meals etc.)
Requirements:
- Reliable, flexible, proactive and willing to Muck-in with the family.
- Willingness to adhere to the family's routines and requirements (e.g. Ensuring homework gets done, supervising the use of social media etc.)
- Highly responsible, organised and resourceful.
- Kind and patient
- Good / fluent spoken and written English to help with homework and reading.
- Non-smoker
- Have experience of being a sole-charge nanny or aupair with KS2 primary school aged / pre-teen children.
- CRB checked, current first aid certificate ideal, but not crucial.
- Being Ofsted registered ideal, but not vital.
- Have excellent checkable references
- Live locally, ideally within walking/bus distance.
- Be available for baby-sitting
This is a great job with a relaxed, but busy family! NB. We have a cat.
Attractive salary.
Please contact me with a CV, photo, any copies of references/certificates and when you are available for interview (we are available over the Christmas holidays). Please do not make contact unless you have the necessary experience or requirements.
We look forward to hearing from you!
