We are an American family with three children (ages 13, 9, and.
6) Who have been living in London for 2 years. We are looking for afterschool and early evening care for our three children, up to five days a week with some flexibility. Both parents work outside the home although, on occasion, one or both may work from home as well.
Since our children are school aged, their care needs are not demanding. We live in Notting Hill, and the children also attend school in Notting Hill. Our nanny would be prepared to pick up the children from school or after-school activities, help arrange playdates and host them at our home, help take the kids to various local activities and play with them (arts and crafts, games, and reading are favorites). No driving is necessary!
We also strongly prefer a Spanish-speaking nanny who will speak to our children in Spanish most (if not all) of the time and help with Spanish homework. Our children attended bilingual Spanish-English schools in the States before we moved to London and we work hard to keep up their Spanish. Although the children are tutored in Spanish and take Spanish lessons in school, we find that a Spanish-speaking nanny has been instrumental in helping improve their language skills. The kids love Spanish and are eager to learn more! We hope our future nanny would foster that love of language and find creative ways to integrate Spanish into their activities and play.
