We are a busy but welcoming family of three - mum, dad and eight year old boy - looking for a bright, enthusiastic, bubbly, friendly and reliable after-school nanny to join our family.
The working hours would be a minimum of 15 hours per week from 3:40pm/4:30pm (dependant on after school clubs) to 7pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Someone with Friday flexibility is required as, in the winter, the Friday pick up is earlier (1:30pm/2pm during the months of November to February). Additional hours may also be required on an ad hoc basis so some flexibility would be appreciated, for example if we are working late or are out for an evening.
The job would involve picking our son up from school in Whetstone N20 at 3:40pm/ 4:30pm and taking him home (in Finchley N3) or to after school classes (which are fairly local). A driver with own car and clean driving licence is preferred but not essential as the journey from school and to any after-school clubs will be possible by bus and walking. You will then need to look after him (he likes playing with Lego, board games, cooking, arts and crafts, going to the local playground…anything and everything!), take him to after-school clubs, supervise piano practice (30 minutes), feed him dinner, bath him and getting ready for bed. We are usually back in time to read stories to him before bed at about 7pm.
You would need to be comfortable looking after two children as he may sometimes have a play date (on Fridays).
We are looking for a friendly, bubbly person who has previous experience with children of similar age, at least two checkable references, preferably has a clear DBS check, has a good level of written and spoken English and must be a non-smoker. As our son is learning the piano, a basic knowledge of music/piano and/or a willingness to help with the piano practice is needed please. Our son is a bundle of energy and great fun so you will need lots of energy, a sunny disposition and be ready to have lots of fun!
We do also have two cats who will be in and out of the house!
