We are looking for a kind, reliable, bright and fun person to take care of our easy-going 8 year old twins, five days a week, from school pick up at 3.30 in West Hampstead, to 6.30 as core hours. We live in a bright fourth floor (with a lift!), mansion block flat on Mill Lane. Your task will be to pick the children up, walk home with them (15 Mins walk), and spend a happy three hours, including preparing and overseeing their supper, until one of us comes home. On one or occasionally more evenings a week (Mon-Thursday only) we will need you to babysit.
Our children will be starting year 5 at primary school in September, and as the youngest in their class, need some structured support with Maths and English which we would like to make part of this role. In year 6 they will take the Saturday tests.
The hours are 3.30-6.30 basic, Monday to Thursday. On Fridays we usually go to our house in Norfolk, and you would need to collect them from school and take them to King's Cross station to hand over to one of us. Very occasionally, and with advance notice, we would need you to take them to King's Lynn on the train.
With two working parents with busy jobs, our lives can be complicated! It would be great if you were able on exceptional occasions to do extra hours: coming in early to take them to school, or stepping in in the event of illness (but we appreciate this may not always be possible).
We are looking for someone with experience of working with and caring for children, and relevant experience or knowledge of primary-level maths and literacy.
Pay is £12-£14 an hour net (£10 an hour for babysitting), paid weekly in arrears. The role would start in the first week of September 2022, with a month's probation.
