An active, lively Putney family are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person for after school childcare for three sons aged 15 y, 13 y and 10 y. The boys are active, with sport (rowing, rugby etc), music (cello, clarinet, saxophone) and school work. Also enjoy art and scouts outside of school.
Most of the role would involve the youngest and would initially include collecting from school (driving not necessary), although the intention is he will eventually travel on his own; supervision of and helping with homework; encouraging music practise; taking to music lesson and playdates or play at home. Also serving up and tidying away a simple meal for the children every day.
The position is available Monday to Thursday for an average of 3 hours per afternoon during term time and on an all day basis Mondays to Thursdays during some half terms and holidays (exact holiday hours can be discussed). There may be occasional babysitting opportunities. Preferred start date 29th August 2022. Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
• Must have excellent spoken and written English language and be able to help with homework for the 10 year old.
• Character - Initiative as well as a flexible and down to earth approach required. Ability to enjoy humour and laughter but also to be firm when required.
• Reliability and good organisational skills necessary.
• Childcare or teaching experience preferred either via formal courses and qualifications or informal eg babysitting or experiences with family.
• This role would be well suited for example to a local university student or a teaching assistant, or anyone local looking for part time work, who has availability for the holiday periods.
