Salary: £7.50 - £8.50 per hour
We are looking for Activity Leaders to join our Summer Teens Programs in London (Greenwich).
Contracts available are non-residential and for 2-3 weeks in July.
The posts are ideally suited to candidates who:
-Already have a place to stay in the area (the positions are non-residential so no accommodation is provided).
-Would like the opportunity to gain work experience with teenagers or would like to build on existing experience with children and/or teenagers.
-Are studying or planning to study on a PGCE or sports science/coaching, drama or music degree, and have an infectious passion for their area of specialism.
Working as part of the Social Programme team at one of our Teen Summer Centers (and wearing a yellow t-shirt as per the above photo!), you will be responsible for delivering a safe, fun and varied programme of activities and excursions for teenagers coming from Spain, Italy and a number of other countries around the world. You will need energy, enthusiasm, patience and an ability to calmly think on your feet as and when the need arises!
Here is a sample of the activities you will be leading:
-Daytrips to exciting cities and sightseeing destinations (e.g. London, Oxford, Harry Potter studios)
-Sports (e.g. Football, tennis, swimming)
-Water sports and beach games
-Shopping trips
-Drama workshops
-Laser quests
-And much more!
So what will your main responsibilities be?
-Participate in the running of activities, excursions and evening events
-Ensure the safety and welfare of students is of primary concern
-Encourage, enthuse and involve all students in the activities and excursions
-Plan, execute and feedback on each activity or excursion
-Assist with the arrival and departure of students, giving them a warm and friendly welcome
-Actively assist in the supervisory duties of the students during free-time and meal times at the centre
-To be conversant with Health and Safety procedures and Risk Assessments at the centre, reporting any areas of concern to the management
-To monitor the wellbeing of students, actively seeking to resolve any issues or areas of concern.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Good leadership qualities
-experience of working with teenagers preferred
-Summer school and/or residential center experience an advantage
-Interest in sports/drama/music
-Enthusiasm to lead fun, engaging activities for international teenagers.
