Objectives:
To provide financial, clerical and general and accounts administrative services to Head Office Finance function
Main duties and responsibilities:
Finance Tasks
Monthly statement reconciliations both on paper and in excel
Assisting AP Manager with ad hoc month end tasks
Seeking internal approval for specific supplier accounts
Clearing down suspense accounts on accounting software
Uploading and allocating invoices on web based invoice software, approximately. 500 per week
Batching PO’s to invoice
Assisting with regular payment runs setting up both BACS and cheques payments
Send remittances to suppliers
Updating daily payment request log
Responding to finance queries via telephone and email
Assisting with staff expenses including helping to improve and refine the process
Support AP Manager with year end audit
Ad hoc tasks requested by the FC or CFO and senior management team
Administration Tasks
Opening and distributing daily post
Filing all processed invoices and bank payments for audit purposes
Processing new supplier forms ensuring all information is correct and signed off
Support in process improvement tasks
Professional qualification and competencies
Essential
Aptitude for numbers
GCSE/A Level educated (including maths)
Competent user of Microsoft Excel
Desirable
Exposure to working in a finance team / payroll function
Data entry
IT literate
Personal attributes
Essential
Accuracy and attention to detail
Organisational skills, reliability, good time management
Ability to work in a small team environment
Desirable
Fast learner, willing to learn
Excellent communication skills
Working hours 9am to 6pm
Salary £19,000 to £21,000
Benefits: free lunch, pension, 20 days holiday (plus 8 days bank holidays)
