As a newly created finance team, the Accountant will be based in the London office of Blue Venture Services. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the key objectives of the role are:
• Responsible for all month-end close activities:
o Completion of month-end close journals (including preparation of journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations)
o Perform fixed assets month-end procedures including additions, disposals, running depreciation and completing reconciliations
o Understand and apply group fixed assets accounting policies
o Prepare journal entry support and documentation and book journal entries
o Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare VAT workings for external service providers and ensure VAT returns are accurate and submitted to the CFO on time,
• Working on bank reconciliations,
• Accounts payable processing and payment, including employee expense reimbursement
• Preparing limited company accounts with the CFO,
• Assistance in audit file preparation financial statements and liaison with external auditors,
• Ensure that internal policies and procedures are adhered,
• Assist with ad-hoc projects.
The candidate:
Ideally, the chosen candidate will have a minimum of four years’ experience in small or medium fast growing structures. If you are an outgoing Accountant with a strong work ethic and the motivation to progress your career, then this position could be the perfect job for you.
You will be asked to supply evidence of meeting these competencies when you apply:
• 5 – 7 years’ experience of working in a accounting role,
• Ideally qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, AMCA, ACCA),
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, detail oriented, work independently and a self-starter,
• Excellent team working skills and flexibility in approach to work,
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels and across different geographies and cultures - Confidence in dealing with non-finance staff,
• experience of working to tight deadlines,
• A good understanding of French could be a great asset,
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, word)
