ABA/VB Part-time Tutor Position Available
We are looking for ABA/VB therapist to join our home based, well established VB program, which is funded by the local authority and run by Consultants from the Carbone Clinic London.
The program is based on B.F. Skinners principles of teaching language with a vast emphasis on communication. You will be part of the team working with our 18 year old daughter.
It is essential for you to be playful, energetic, enthusiastic, and fun to be with, like songs, Rhymes, swinging and ride a bike and adult scooter.
Daily sessions include teaching in ITT, NETs, self-help activities, community outings, work experience, e.g.: gym, shopping, horse riding, and supporting occurring live skills, such as: dressing, personal care and cooking.
The position is available from September 2022 for 38 weeks a year, term times.
The working hours are: - Tuesday - from 8:45am to 4:15pm,
- Wednesday – from 08:45am to 4:15pm,
- Thursday -from 08:45am to 12.15pm (workshops and overlaps).
- Friday -from 08:45am to 4:15pm.
These are preferable hours for us, however we are able to make adjustment as long as there are 7,5 hrs of therapy/ day, (30 minute lunch break and 45 min Admin included).
We are looking for someone with good VB experience but we are happy to train.
Signalong sign language knowledge and understanding of epilepsy and first aid assistance (training will be provided).
You will be responsible for appropriate data collection, summarising and graphing it, in order to monitor the progress.
In addition, overlap sessions with the lead tutor will be available on a weekly basis.
There will be full day Consultant workshops on a monthly basis and further bi weekly half day Consultant supervision visits.
We are based in West London, short distance from Northolt station (central line) and with easy access from A40.
We offer very competitive hourly rate depending based on experience from £18 - £24.
