Full time permanet cdt teacher required for september 2008

Are you an experienced CDT teacher looking for a full time permanent contract to start 1st September 2008? Can you attend an interview/trial day in the next couple of weeks?......We have just the job!
A large mixed Catholic 11-18 comprehensive school with 1688 pupils on roll are looking for a committed, flexible teacher to join their successful Technology Department.
There are 832 boys and 856 girls. The sixth form is very large, with 506 students. The school successfully passed its ofsted inspection in March 2006 with an outstanding rating and Beacon Status which was originally awarded back in 1999.
The CDT Department is staffed at present by an enthusiastic team of four full-time teachers and the equivalent of two full-time technicians. It is well stocked and equipped, and the staff are able to produce a wide range of project work and take an interest in incorporating the use of ICT into there design work. The department is able to book an ICT room for class work and follow this up with individual work using their own systems. The Work Shops have access to sets of lap top computers and projectors. All pupils in Years 7 – 9 take Technology for half a day.
By the end of KS3, pupils attainment in Design and Technology is well above the National average. In Years 10 and 11, exam options are taken and currently we offer Graphic Products, Construction and Resistant Materials, catering for approximately 150 students. AS / A level Design and Technology Product Design is taught in the Sixth Form. The pupils produce some interesting project work and exam results are very good – the department has a percentage A* - C pass rate at GCSE which is in the high 80s or 90s according to the subject. It has slightly higher rates at AS and A2 level. After a previous Ofsted Inspection, the Technology Department was one of a number that were named as performing well. In the Spring Term 2006 Ofsted described the teaching at the school as outstanding. The Technology Department is continuing to develop new courses and adapt to National Curriculum requirements. It has recently introduced a new City and Guilds Foundation Course in Building Craft Occupations.
