Our client, the largest media publishing house in the world are looking for graduate or entry level media sales executives to join their trainee media sales scheme. The benefits of working for this media giant are that their media products are well established, some titles are 150 years old. The graduate/ entry level role in question will be to sell advertising space on market leading magazines and websites. This company lead from the front, they invested in online (websites) media 2 decades before the online boom so that every media product they own is supported by a website and they have annual sales of over GBP250million so they are certainly experts and front runners in the media sector.
What will you be doing?
The role of a media sales executive is all about the sale of advertising space on a recognised product or brand, either in a Magazine or on a Website. Most people do not realise that the website you are reading this advert on is funded entirely by the money it makes from advertising! In other words without adverts and space being sold there would be no money for the production of magazines or BBC aside, TV/Radio shows etc. No money for the Directors Bentley no money for the other departments in fact no money for anything, so as you can see it is the most important department of any media company.
So you need tobe a team player as you will be joining a large and established team with fantastic training. These roles have come about due expansion and development of previous new starters not because somebody has left! Career progression is a driving factor here and if you want the opportunity to become a manager within 3 years or the chance to be earning GBP40k + then this is the media company you should be working for.
What does a graduate/trainee media sales executive get?
Initially you will attend an induction course which will prepare you for the media career you are about to embark on. The training you will receive is well recognised within media itself as one of the best and effective training courses there is. With this on your CV any future moves within media sales will be some what less of a problem.
You will be paid top wages for the media industry; you will earn a basic salary of GBP18,900 - GBP21,000 (for exceptional candidates) + uncapped commission. Their commission structure is so good that a candidate placed on a GBP17,500 basic took home in total GBP37,000 in year one! You will also receive 28 days holiday a year, not including bank holidays and you will have the whole of Christmas off. You will also have the opportunity to join a fantastic pension and healthcare scheme. You will be based in plush offices in South West London (only 25 minutes from Victoria), so large that a well known coffee brand have a shop within the office!
